New Holland is a borough in
Lancaster County,
Pennsylvania,
USA. The population was 5,092 at the 2000 census. Settled in 1728 by Johann Michael Dubendorfer(John Diffenderfer) of Heidelberg, Germany, New Holland is located in the fertile farmlands of Lancaster County. Philadelphia is 60 miles to the east, while Baltimore is 90 miles to the south, and Harrisburg is 40 miles to the northwest. Before it became known as New Holland, it had been called Earltown and New Design.

The median income for a household in the borough was $44,446, and the median income for a family was $50,758. Males had a median income of $37,002 versus $25,766 for females. The

poverty line, including 7.5% of those under age 18 and 1.5% of those age 65 or over.
